WHAT TO BRING:

Each Official should bring an adequate supply of equipment including; t-shirts, black pants, black shorts, black shoes, whistle, lanyard.

TEAMS AND TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

A selected group of non-competitive and competitive teams from the Muslim Community compete for the Salaam Cup. Teams will play in a traditional championship/consolation style format with the best teams advancing to the championship side.

In addition, High Performance OSBA teams will take to the court in a round robin preseason match-up.

LOCATION:

Humber College North Campus Athletic Centre

The facility has been host to Canada Basketball Tournaments, Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Championships, Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Championships, Toronto District High School Championships, Ontario Basketball Association Championships, All-Stars games and many other signature basketball events. 

ACCOMMODATIONS:

A host of recommended options are provided after registration.

EVALUATOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM

Certified Evaluator In Training Program in conjunction with Canada Basketball.

Some conditions and limits apply. Fees may be associated with this program.

This program highlights the following principals and characteristics of potential national evaluators:

  1. Credibility with peers of the basketball community

  2. High ethical standards and leadership skills

  3. Recognized technical and officiating expertise

  4. A commitment of time and energy to the evaluation process

Areas of responsibilities of the Evaluator:

  1. Positive/Welcoming: To ensure that the evaluation process is a POSITIVE experience

  2. Punctuality: To arrive at the venue early

  3. Professionalism: To conduct himself/herself in a professional manner at all times

  4. Fairness: To assess each individual fairly without bias

  5. Feedback: To provide constructive, positive feedback orally and in written form so that the individual can clearly see how they can improve

  6. Communication: To communicate clearly ensuring that all individuals understand
    instructions and explanations

  7. Credibility: To ensure that all areas of the process are covered as prescribed; that the
    individuals are left with a positive impression of the process; and that the evaluation
    process is credible

  8. Debriefing: To ensure that all the individuals are debriefed with specific reference to
    the performance. He/she MUST clearly understand when more practice/training is needed

  9. Attention: The ability to listen actively to the individuals

  10. Action Plan: All individuals must leave the evaluation with an action plan designed to assist them with training and/or future endeavours
